The Bulldog-EX-FLEX is an exhaust-only system. Captured fumes are pulled through the 8-inch arm, through the wall-mounted unit, and vented directly outside your facility through a ducted connection. There are no onboard filters to replace, no filter schedule to manage, and no performance degradation from a clogged filter during a busy production run.

For high-output shops running consistent shifts of MIG or Stick welding, the operational math is simple: exhaust-only systems eliminate filter replacement as a recurring cost and a maintenance task entirely. The tradeoff is clear — ducting is required and not included with the unit. You need a connection from the exhaust outlet to an exterior vent point.

The extraction capacity backing the magnetic hood is the same 1.5 HP motor driving 1,200 CFM through an 8-inch diameter, 10-foot articulating arm used across the full Bulldog line. The 8-inch arm is non-negotiable for that CFM rating — a 6-inch arm at 1,200 CFM creates pressure drop that significantly reduces capture efficiency at the hood.

External joints on the arm allow precise positioning across the work area and hold position once set. The built-in internal airflow damper lets you reduce extraction volume for TIG welding — where pulling too much air disrupts shielding gas coverage — without reducing the unit's rated capacity for higher-demand MIG and Stick processes.

The exhaust outlet is field-configurable to exit from the left or right side of the unit housing, so you can route your duct run to whichever side fits your facility layout without repositioning the unit itself.

Q: What surfaces does the magnetic hood attach to?
