Welding Equipment to pair with: Sunstone CD Welders, Sunstone DC Welders, Sunstone AC Welder
Includes Shanks, Cables, and Electrodes.
Choosing the Right DPHP Variant
The DPHP comes in five versions, differentiated by shank diameter, cable gauge, and electrode size — all of which determine how much current the hand piece can safely carry from the power supply to your weld. The rule of thumb is simple: match the hand piece to your welder's power level and your material thickness. Choosing too light a hand piece for a high-energy welder will limit performance and risk overheating the attachment; choosing heavier than you need adds cost and bulk without benefit.
Standard — $290 The right choice for most buyers in this bundle. Designed for general-purpose resistance welding at moderate energy levels, it handles standard nickel tab welding on cylindrical cells (18650, 21700) with ease. If you're doing typical battery pack prototyping or light production, start here.
Micro — $420 Built for fine and delicate work — very thin materials, small weld areas, or applications requiring a narrow electrode footprint where precision matters more than power. Not the right fit for standard battery tab welding, but well-suited if your application involves thin wire bonding or miniature components alongside your battery work.
Low Power — $520 A step up from Standard in build quality and cable capacity, suited for slightly heavier duty cycles or thicker tab materials. A good choice if you're pushing toward the upper end of the 200 Ws CDSP or working with thicker nickel strip.
Medium Power — $800 Designed for higher energy welders and sustained production cycles. Better suited to dual-pulse CD welders or applications involving thicker, more conductive materials than standard nickel strip. Likely more than needed for this entry-level bundle, but future-proof if you plan to upgrade your power supply.
High Power — $900 Built for maximum energy throughput — heavy duty cable, large-diameter shank, and electrodes rated for the highest-output CD and DC welders in Sunstone's lineup. This is a production-scale attachment and is overkill for the CDSP at 100 Ws or 200 Ws.
