Description

130W Power, a 1,400 × 900mm Bed, and the Cutting Power to Move From Small-Batch to High-Volume

The OneLaser Cobra 14 features a 55.12" × 35.43" (1400 × 900mm) workspace — large enough for full sheet stock and large-format signage — paired with 130W of cutting power and the same 1,200 mm/s / 2G DSP motion system as the rest of the Cobra line. The Cobra 14 is built for production environments, not workshops testing the waters.

Full sheet plywood, large-format signage, and furniture-scale panels don't fit on most CO2 lasers without cutting the material down first — an extra step that costs time and yield on every job. The OneLaser Cobra 14 removes that constraint. A 130W water-cooled glass CO2 tube, a 1400 × 900mm work area, and an industrial-grade frame built to hold precision at that scale give shops a genuine path from small-batch work to high-volume production, without changing vendors or software.

130W and a 1400 × 900mm Bed — Full Sheet Stock, No Cutting Down First

At 55.12" × 35.43", the Cobra 14's bed is large enough to run full sheet goods, oversized signage, and furniture panels in a single pass — no pre-cutting material to fit a smaller bed, and no wasted yield from working around size limits. The 130W laser source gives it the power to cut cleanly through thicker hardwoods and acrylics at that scale, rather than making multiple slower passes.

1,200 mm/s at Industrial Bed Size — Where Most 130W Machines Slow Down

Speed typically drops as bed size and material capacity go up. Most 130W CO2 lasers in this bed-size class are rated around 600 mm/s. The Cobra 14 holds the same 1,200 mm/s top speed and 2G acceleration as the smaller Cobra models — meaning stepping up to the larger bed doesn't cost you throughput on smaller jobs run at scale.

DSP Control: Where the Time Savings Compound Most

The Cobra 14's DSP (Digital Signal Processor) control system plans toolpaths in real time rather than processing raw G-code line by line — and the larger the bed, the more that efficiency matters, since inefficient path planning has more distance to waste. OneLaser cites jobs that take 30 minutes on a G-code machine finishing in 10–15 minutes on the Cobra Series; on a full-bed production run, that gap compounds across every piece in the batch.

MagSwitch™, Autofocus, and a 16MP Camera — Automation That Scales to Batch Production

  • Autofocus: Sets optimal focal distance automatically, even across a bed this large — no manual re-measuring between jobs.
  • Red-Dot Positioning: Marks the exact optical path before the job starts, useful for lining up multiple large pieces or nested cut files.
  • MagSwitch™: Tool-free magnetic lens holder for fast lens changes without recalibration — useful when switching between engrave-detail and cut-power lens setups on a busy production day.
  • 16MP Camera: High-resolution overhead camera for drag-and-drop artwork placement across the full 1400×900mm bed, particularly useful for batch-nesting multiple parts.

Front-to-Rear Pass-Through for Materials Up to 45mm Thick

The through-feed door design opens from both the front and rear, letting material longer than the bed itself — trim, long panels, oversized signage blanks — pass straight through the cabinet (up to 45mm thick) instead of being limited by interior bed length.

Industrial-Grade Frame + Ball-Screw Z-Axis — Precision at Full-Sheet Scale

At this bed size, frame rigidity is what keeps cut quality consistent from one corner of the bed to the other. The Cobra 14's gantry uses integrally extruded, aerospace-grade aluminum, NVH-tested to resist flex across the full 1400mm width at speed. The Z-axis runs on a precision ball screw for ±0.01mm repeat positioning accuracy, with 280mm (11.02") of Z-axis travel for thicker material and jigged workpieces, and a synchronized belt system that eliminates backlash — so a cut on the far edge of the bed comes out as clean as one in the center.

Smart Dual Air-Assist — Automatic Switching Across Larger Cut Areas

The built-in Dual Air-Assist system automatically toggles between Low-Air mode for clean detail engraving and High-Air mode for faster, safer cutting on thicker material — no manual adjustment needed as jobs move between detail work and full-power cutting across a large batch.

300+ Materials Now, Bare Metal Later — Optional 3W/5W IR Module

The Cobra 14 handles 300+ materials out of the box — wood, acrylic, leather, glass, rubber, fabric, and more. An optional 3W or 5W infrared (IR) module adds bare and coated metal marking without a second machine, letting shops expand into higher-value product categories. Sold separately starting around $599, it integrates directly with LightBurn.

Built-In Temperature Monitoring and Enclosed Safety Design

The Cobra 14 ships in a fully enclosed housing with safety lid detection and a built-in temperature sensor with intelligent monitoring — important for a machine intended to run extended production cycles rather than occasional jobs.

What's in the Box

  • OneLaser Cobra 14 (130W) laser engraver/cutter unit
  • Fixed honeycomb worktable
  • Focusing lens
  • Air-assist nozzle and accessories
  • Power cord and setup documentation

Not included: An industrial water chiller is required to run the Cobra 14 and is sold separately (OneLaser's CW-5200 or an equivalent unit rated for 90–150W glass tubes is recommended). Budget for this as part of your total setup cost.

Warranty, Support & Made in USA Engineering

The OneLaser Cobra 14 is backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty on the laser engraving machine, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. OneLaser's machines are engineered by a 100% U.S.-based team, with nationwide on-site service available across the U.S.

The Maker's Chest Difference

The OneLaser Cobra 14 is available directly from OneLaser and through other resellers. Here's what changes when you buy it through The Maker's Chest:

  • 🛡️ 75-day returns — more than double OneLaser's standard 30-day direct return window. That's real time to run the Cobra 14 through actual full-sheet production before you're locked in.

Choose the Cobra 10 if a 1000×600mm bed covers your typical batch size — you'll get identical speed, resolution, and Z-axis clearance in a smaller footprint. Choose the Cobra 8 if floor space is the priority and your jobs don't need the larger bed or extra Z-axis clearance.

Frequently Asked Questions about the OneLaser Cobra 14

Q: What's the difference between the Cobra 8, Cobra 10, and Cobra 14? A: All three run the same 1,200 mm/s speed, 2G acceleration, 1,000 DPI resolution, and automation stack. The Cobra 14 has the most laser power (130W), the largest bed (1400×900mm), and 280mm of Z-axis clearance — built for shops running full sheet goods or large-format work, rather than smaller batch jobs.

Q: Is the Cobra 14 overkill for a smaller shop? A: It depends on your material sizes more than your business size. If you're regularly cutting full sheet plywood, large signage blanks, or furniture-scale panels, the bed size alone justifies the Cobra 14 regardless of order volume. If your typical job fits inside a smaller bed, the Cobra 8 or Cobra 10 will save you floor space without giving up speed or precision.

Q: How does the Cobra 14's speed compare to other 130W CO2 lasers this size? A: Most 130W-class machines with a comparable 1400×900mm bed are rated around 600 mm/s. The Cobra 14 runs at up to 1,200 mm/s with 2G acceleration, backed by a DSP control system OneLaser cites as finishing jobs 2–3× faster than G-code-controlled machines — a real difference on full-sheet production runs where every extra pass adds up.

Q: Does the Cobra 14 need a water chiller? A: Yes, it's required. The Cobra 14 runs a 130W water-cooled glass CO2 tube, and without a properly rated chiller the tube can overheat and fail. The chiller is sold separately (OneLaser's CW-5200 or an equivalent unit rated for up to 150W is recommended) — factor it into your total setup cost.

Q: What materials can the Cobra 14 cut and engrave? A: 300+ non-metal materials, including wood, plywood, acrylic, leather, glass, rubber, fabric, and cardboard. It can cut cleanly through thicker hardwoods and acrylics than lower-wattage models thanks to the 130W laser source. Bare or coated metal requires the optional 3W/5W IR module, sold separately.

Q: What's the Cobra 14's warranty, and what does it cover? A: 1 year on the laser engraving machine, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. It doesn't cover damage from misuse, unapproved modifications, or normal wear on consumables like the tube and lenses.

Q: Why buy the Cobra 14 from The Maker's Chest instead of directly from OneLaser? A: Our 75-day return window is more than double OneLaser's 30-day direct policy — meaningful on a machine this size, where you want real production runs to confirm fit before you're committed. You also get USA-based expert support by phone and email, plus honest guidance on whether the Cobra 14 or a smaller Cobra model actually matches your job sizes.

Q: Does the Cobra 14's larger frame affect precision compared to the smaller Cobra models? A: No — the frame is built specifically to hold ±0.01mm positioning accuracy across the full 1400mm width, using the same aerospace-grade aluminum construction and ball-screw Z-axis as the rest of the line, just scaled and reinforced for the larger footprint.

Q: What's in the box, and does it include the water chiller? A: The Cobra 14 ships with the laser unit, a fixed honeycomb worktable, focusing lens, and air-assist accessories. The water chiller is a required separate purchase — the 130W glass tube can't run without one. We're happy to help you pick the right chiller for a machine this size before you order.

  • This service utilises power tailgates with two-man crews or crane trucks when required and this is included in the quoted price.
  • The receiver will be contacted prior to delivery to arrange a suitable delivery date and time. Deliveries are scheduled for either an AM or PM slot on any given day.
  • Delivery is to front car port, driveway, doorstep or wherever practical depending upon site access. Drivers are not permitted to move item(s) within the residence or around the property due to OHS reasons.
  • This service assumes reasonable and safe access to the site is available. Overhanging trees, steep driveways, unsealed driveways, narrow driveways or streets or an unforeseen obstruction may deem the delivery unavailable.
