Every laser engraver on the market was designed to engrave flat surfaces first — cylindrical objects were an afterthought bolted on with an add-on rotary, manual calibration, and steps-per-rotation math that drifts every time you swap items. For anyone doing volume tumbler engraving, or engraving live at a market or event, that friction eats directly into profit. The OneLaser VertiGo™ was engineered by OneLaser in partnership with LensDigital — makers of the industry-leading PiBurn rotary — to remove that friction entirely: a factory-integrated Grip2 rotary holds items vertically instead of on their side, and a 38W RF laser handles the engraving without a chiller in sight.
Standard rotary attachments lay tumblers on their side, which means fighting the weight of heavier items and constantly nudging things back into alignment as they roll. The VertiGo™ holds items upright, the way they're designed to stand. The self-centering Grip2 chuck jaws do the alignment automatically, so heavy, oversized, or oddly shaped pieces — dog bowls, buckets, insulated jugs — stay put without extra bracing or babysitting.
At the core of the VertiGo™ is the PiBurn Grip2, a chuck-style rotary that grips an item at its base with self-centering jaws rather than rolling it on wheels — more stable for tall, heavy, or irregular items than roller-style rotaries. Because it's factory-mounted and factory-aligned to the laser path with steps-per-rotation pre-configured, you never touch a rotary setting: place the item, close the chuck, and engrave.
The VertiGo™ runs a 38W air-cooled RF laser tube, delivering engraving performance comparable to a 60W glass tube in a far smaller footprint. RF's tighter beam spot produces noticeably sharper edges and finer detail on powder-coated drinkware than a glass tube of similar power, and because it's fully air-cooled, there's no water chiller to buy, fill, or maintain — one less system to fail mid-production.

Cylindrical objects vary wildly in radius — a skinny water bottle and a wide dog bowl need completely different focal distances. The VertiGo™'s Smart Autofocus senses the item's diameter and sets focal distance automatically with a gentle probe that won't tip the piece, removing the manual measuring step that trips up most rotary setups.
Live, on-demand engraving at markets, fairs, and pop-ups is one of the highest-margin channels available to engravers — but most laser engravers are too heavy, too fragile, or too chiller-dependent to actually bring along. The VertiGo™ was built to change that:
The VertiGo™ has no flat bed and does not engrave flat objects — it's a specialist cylindrical engraver, not a general-purpose laser. For shops doing both flat and round work, it's built to run alongside a flatbed CO2 or fiber laser, taking drinkware and cylindrical jobs off that machine's queue entirely.
Note: The VertiGo™'s 38W RF laser is fully air-cooled — no water chiller is required or included.
The OneLaser VertiGo™ is backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. OneLaser's machines are engineered by a 100% U.S.-based team, with nationwide on-site service available across the U.S.
The OneLaser VertiGo™ is available directly from OneLaser and through other resellers. Here's what changes when you buy it through The Maker's Chest:
Q: What makes the VertiGo™ different from a regular laser with a rotary attachment? A: Three things. The Grip2 rotary is factory-integrated and factory-aligned, so there's zero calibration or steps-per-rotation setup required. It engraves vertically, so items stand upright instead of lying on their side, and the self-centering chuck jaws produce automatic alignment. And it's purpose-built for cylindrical work rather than a flatbed machine with a bolted-on rotary as an afterthought.
Q: Does the VertiGo™ replace a flatbed laser? A: No. It has no flat bed and can't engrave flat surfaces — it's a dedicated cylindrical engraver. For shops doing both flat and round work, it's meant to run alongside a flatbed CO2 or fiber laser, handling drinkware and cylindrical jobs so they're not tying up your main machine.
Q: What materials and items can the VertiGo™ engrave? A: It excels on powder-coated drinkware — tumblers, insulated bottles, and cups from brands like Stanley, Yeti, RTIC, and Hydro Flask. It also engraves anodized aluminum, painted metal, glass, ceramic, wood, leather, and plastic on cylindrical items, including mugs, dog bowls, wine glasses, beer steins, sports bottles, and other round objects that fit the chuck.
Q: Does the VertiGo™ need a water chiller? A: No. Its 38W RF laser is fully air-cooled — there's no chiller, water lines, or coolant to maintain.
Q: Is the VertiGo™ good for beginners? A: Yes. The rotary is pre-aligned and pre-calibrated from the factory, and Smart Autofocus handles focal distance automatically for each item's diameter. The workflow is place, lock, load your design, and engrave — most users produce a usable engraving on their first session, with LightBurn as the standard software.
Q: Is the VertiGo™ practical for live events and markets? A: Yes — it was specifically designed for this. It's compact enough for a standard table, needs no chiller or auxiliary equipment, requires no on-site calibration, and the LED-lit glass chamber draws a crowd while items are being engraved in real time.
Q: What's the largest item the VertiGo™ can handle? A: The Grip2 chuck and extended jaw accessory handle most standard drinkware up to roughly 12" in diameter, including wide-mouth items like dog bowls and buckets. If you're working with unusually large or heavy pieces, check with our team before ordering to confirm fit.
Q: What software does the VertiGo™ use? A: LightBurn, connected via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi. Rotary configuration for the Grip2 is straightforward since steps-per-rotation are already set at the factory, minimizing the software setup needed before your first job.
Q: What's the VertiGo™'s warranty, and what does it cover? A: 1 year on the machine, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service. It doesn't cover damage from misuse, unapproved modifications, or normal wear on consumables like the lens.
Q: Why buy the VertiGo™ from The Maker's Chest instead of directly from OneLaser? A: Our 75-day return window is more than double OneLaser's 30-day direct policy, giving you real time to run the machine through actual production or an event before you're committed. You also get USA-based expert support by phone and email, plus honest guidance on whether the VertiGo™ fits your specific drinkware or event-engraving business before you buy.
